Problem Notes
  • Episodic Tetany: Episodes lasted 15-30 seconds.
  • Tetraparesis: Improved significantly after second acupuncture treatment. As of September 30, 2014, Forrest is ambulatory x4. He runs. Plays, climbs onto sofa.

Treatments
Day 0

Notes:  Initial visit.. Tetraparesis. Dog had just been turned into rescue with no medical history. He was able to stand and take a step if placed on grass. On carpet or any other surface,non-ambulatory. Experienced periods each days lasting 30 to 60 seconds of lateral recumbancy and rigidity of all limbs. Neurologist gave a presumptive diagnosis of syringomyelia.

Diet is largely canned or kibble

Acupuncture points were stimulated


Day 9

Notes:  Presented for 4th acupuncture treatment and walked into office. Forrest able to rise and walk unassisted on all surfaces.

Day 13

Notes:  Added in physical therapy. Mobility is significantly improved.

Manipulation or massage was performed


Day 56

Notes:  Seizure- like episodes increased in frequency and duration. Forrest was reevaluated by same neurologist. Blood work was WNL except for mild anemia. MRI was done and showed Cerebellar Cyst.


Day 107

Notes:  Added in Chinese herbal medicine called Stasis in Mansion of the Mind. Seizure-like episodes resolved within one week.
