Treatment and Outcome

Problem Notes
  • Herbal Treatment Options: This is a very sad case. Rocket was a rescue in January. He about 7 years old lab mix maybe chow. He had depigmentation on his nasal mucosal margin but no other lesions. He got bitten by a snake of unknown type in March that triggered a severe skin change. It was just biopsied and confirmed to be Pemphigus F. The reg vet tried steroids' initially but he became very aggressive towards owner on steroids'. So when I saw him before the final diagnosis ( I ultimately had to do the biopsy for the owner) he was on cyclosporine doxycycline niacinamide and vitamin e. All for about 4 weeks

    personality earth
skin lesions crusty ulcerative and pruritic
body overall dry and cold except warm at BL19 through BL21 alarms at liv 13
pulses deep taunt at liv/gb weak on right especially st/sp
    tongue swollen pale and dry

obviously blood issues and spleen qi but I have no idea if I can help this dog with herbals. He is miserable and feel need to start pred and maybe try to mitigate aggression signs maybe with long dan xie gan, shen calmer , blood tonic ???? Can i realistically treat him without steroids'?
