Problem Notes
  • Tremoring And Ataxia: Improvement or at least no regression in ataxia and tremors
    after starting Chai Ge Jie Ji Tang Oct. 17,2014; and weaning off prednisone.

Treatments
Day 24

Notes:  Pet is clinically markedly improved since starting High dose prednisone in July 2014.
He never became completely normal. He is slightly ataxic in the rear, occasionally tilts his head to left or stumbles to the left. Has mild intention-like tremors when he lowers his head (esp) to take a treat.
Have weaned him down to 5 mg pred SID. He is taking 1/2 teaspoon of Herbal Med BID for 3 weeks. No regression in clinical signs so far.

Diet is largely canned or kibble


Day 194

Notes:  Pet had been doing well until a week ago when developed a head tilt to right; shaking of head then stopped eating 2 days ago. Stopped the herbal med a week ago because his appetite was off. ataxia a bit worse. Restarted prednisone 5 mg SID; and Zeniquin.


Day 201

Notes:  Pet is not improving. Acts like he did when the disease first started last summer.
Hard to get any meds into him. drinking but not eating well.
On pred and zeniquin.

Diet is largely canned or kibble


Day 208

Notes:  Pet is recumbant. Humane euthanasia
