Treatments
Day 0

Notes:  Cat had history of severe URT congestion 3 years ago-- was treated with a variety of AB, no response, tx with prednisone-- resolved within 48 hours and did not return. Original outbreak, early summer. Early this summer, repeat of previous symptoms and treatment, only when RF tried to wean off pred, symptoms returned at half-dose and then did not resolve when full dose was restored. Eventually took off steroids and symptoms have remained unchanged since August. Clear ocular discharge, with some anisocoria OD, white nasal discharge. O reports having to clear crusted mucus off her nose. Wheezy, noisy breathing, cat tends to purr all the time. Suggested diet change to avoid inflammatory foods: carbs, chicken. Treated BL 13, BL 18, GV 23, LU 7 Not particularly cooperative for dry needle treatment.

Acupuncture points were stimulated

Day 15

Notes:  Pogo has improved slightly-- maybe symptoms 4/5. Both cats resisted diet change, and resist eating new food when supplements are added. Recommended starting with small doses and being persistent with not offering any kibble or junk food. Dr. Sarah did intake for classical homeopathy-- will hold off until see response to TCM herbs. When questioned specifically, client noted that the non-affectionate behavior had resolved. BL 13, GV 14, LI 4 dry needle

Diet is largely canned or kibble

Acupuncture points were stimulated

Manipulation or massage was performed

Day 51

Notes:  Owner went back to commercial food and discontinued holistic treatment. She got another round of AB and steroids from conventional vet. She does not plan on continuing integrative therapies-- cat was unhappy with diet change and losing weight, did not like acupuncture treatment.
