• Hemangiosarcoma (splenic): This is a case study. Misty presented for wholistic support for Heamangiosarcoma. Her owner did not want chemotherapy.

  PRESENTING REASON
  Dx 1M ago HSA Spleen
  Also has OA esp Hips ( R hip) and had prev had injection ( cartrophen) for this
  Had tick paralysis earlier this year

  Vaccination: Had in July 2014 Worming: Interceptor Heartworm: Intercdeptor Fleas: Frontline ( flea and tick)

  PHYSICAL EXAMINATION

  MM: pink and moist CRT: < 2 sec
  Pulse: deep toned Tongue: initially pale rounded lilac, after eating liver treats more crimson and lean
  
  Dental: G2 back teeth
  Genitourinary: NAD
  Nervous: NAD
  Musculoskeletal: reduced muiscle bulk and tone. ROM Ok stifles elbows poss slight reduced hips
  Lymphatic: NAD
  GIT: soft abdo palpn
  Skin: tens to dry, papules ventral abdomen, no hx hotspots,
  Ears/eyes: R eye irritation medial canthis poss assoc with prev dog bite
  
  DIAGNOSIS/ASSESSMENT

  also OA
  TCM: Blood deficient and stagnation
  
  TREATMENT
  discuss diet- reduce dry feed Meat and gvege diet supp with antiox, fish oil,
  Coriolus
  Silymarin
  later may add in TCM eg DGSYS, ( bilberry, also curcumon, schisandra, YB )

• Soft Cough (occasional) And Weight Loss On New Diet: These are the notes form the follow up consult on 22/1/15
  recheck initial cons- spleenic hemangiosarcoma.
  generally well and happy
  wt: 29.9 - has lost weight ( now off dry food) needs to watch this
  Hx: occ soft cough- once or twice.
  Has reduced exercise- but is happy to go but less likely to run than before
  no current tick prevention( in tick area)- daily checks- i advised poss use natural spray- may try to source this and daily check
  Now likes new diet meat, veges, occ eggs, tina + herbs and fish oil
  EDUB all OK
  eye less irritated than when on dry food
  exam:
  mm pink and moist CRT < 2 sec
  HR 80- sinus arrythmia and v soft sys Hm ( in cardiac scope). RR at rest in here is approx 40- no dyspnea. Unsure if anxiety of heat- will ask owner to check thi at home. LS WNL
  t: pink to lilac colour
  p: deep to mid, toned
  cool extremeties
  \skin and coat slight dry
  fear of thunder profound before Christmas ( storms were excessive this year)
  abdo palpn: no masses felt
  Ass: happy, stable as far as can tell without further testing- discussed value PCV to monitor- declined for now
  has been 2M since op-
  plan: cont all
  need to monitor cough, weight- increase food
  add in TCM: Blood tonic DGSYS with added schisandra and Curcumin- begin slow. Also Yunnan bayou in case req for bleed.
  CB 2 weeks RV 4 weeks or sooner if required
