Treatment and Outcome

Problem Notes
  • Pain To Right Hind Leg: I started treating this dog for metastatic TCC (transitional cell carcinoma) to R ilium 3 days ago. She was limping but weight bearing. She had a long history of recurring UTIs which would respond to Abx but recur. When lameness started with RH, diagnostic workup led to biopsy and rads and diagnosis.
Tongue was pale and lavender with a deep internal pulse that was hard to find but toned. There was also a lot of heat accumulated at GV-14, GB-34, Liv-3. In the past I have used Shao Fu Zhu Yu Tang plus 10% talc. I did the same here plus vit A/D3, Mushroom extract and yunan bai yao for bladder symptoms of straining to pee which was still an issue. Over the weekend she was very painful and was taken to ER because RH was painful. Tramidol and Gabapentin added to the mix. Considering this pain occured 48 hours post starting herbal program, I am wondering if I need to use something a little less moving because of the pain/pressure over the weekend. I could also just add in XCHT which might cause a better response.
    Thoughts?
