Question Details
Oral SCC
by mikemesley - July 29, 2009
Dog with oral SCC, heat signs - seems LI 11 a great choice as active point.
Hoxsey is the starting point - use Boneset or not? - it does look at it's base to be disrupting tooth roots etc (near one upper lateral incisor and its canine.
Is there anything else you'd add to improve efficacy? Not huge amounts of damp seen in signs - toxic heat and maybe a little stasis are primary issues it seems.
Thanks Steve!

Hi Mike,

Hoxsey seems a good idea. Boneset is okay to include. Si Miao San with Long Dan Xie Gan Tang bought me about one year's remission in the last case like this that I had. I guess I would throw in SMS as well with the Hoxsey, to reduce any loss of appetite or vomiting that may occur from using the Hoxsey. Naturally I always try to use vitamin A and D orally as a general practice to promote tumor differentiation and apoptosis. I think the doses are repeated throughout Manual of Natural Veterinary Medicine if you have it, or perhaps in your herb course notes.

Good luck!

Steve
