Fecal Incontinence In A Cat
by maggie - December 12, 2014    View Case Report
This is a young Bengal on kibble and wet( o will not change this)
Has hx of just having a damp behind and stool just slightly on verge of oozing out, kitty seems farty ,

I noticed on trying to do an awake rectal how loose this cats sphincter was and when I picked him up from his and some soft stool almost came out. He has responded to metronidazole from past visits. No vomiting, good weight

I was thinking sp support would be a good place to start?

Hi Maggie,

Cats that respond to metronidazole will often respond to Si Miao San

If this cat is less than a year of age, Huo Xiang Zheng Qi San (Agastache Combination) is our favourite formula for chronic loose stools

If there appears to be chronic tenesmus or tendencies to prolapse, Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang is also a thought

I take it endoparasitism has been ruled out?
