Great AHVMA lectures. Thanks.
I am seeing a confusing 8 FS DMSH cat. Her problem used to be complete hair loss to tail and hind legs from excessive grooming. She has a cloudy eye with discharge and upper respiratory stridor from a Kitty Herpes infection.
She stopped the excessive grooming recently when she started acting sick- anorexia, weight loss, increase in sleeping, submandibular lymphadenopathy.
The primary vet thought there was lymphoma initially then changed to infection. I had started the cat on Hoxsey and SMS.
The cat's appetite returned and the lymphadenopathy went away when antibiotics were started (Azithromycin).
The cat has been off antibiotics now for 30 days. Appetite is fine. However, this cat used to be energetic and playful now sleeps most of the time. She also spends a lot of the time hiding.
Exam: Tongue: red and swollen
Pulse: fast, deep and wiry
Points: subtle- BL-21, BL-19, GB-20, LI-11
I am wondering about deep seeded pathogens and wanted to expel the pathogen to the exterior. I chose XCHT more based on reputation than on signs of TB obstruction.
Ant thoughts?
Thanks,
