Atopy In A Dog

Hi Steve,

Zed is a 10 year old MI Frenchie w/ the following history:

- Chronic recurrent interdigital cysts, otitis, Staph pyoderma. Resolved 90% on raw diet. No obvious seasonality, so I wonder about food.
- hip dysplasia per owner
- coprophagia, gassy, urpy
- corneal ulcer April 2015 (no further history)
- food sensitive; ^ urpiness, runny stools
- June 2015 prostatitis; resolved on Ab
- is used for breeding :( by AI

I met Zed 2-15-17. He is sweet, friendly. He has pink interdigital skin, mild seborrhea, mild alopecia dorsal ear surface. He was very snorty while chewing, sl. overweight. Tongue: pink, the white coat
Pulse: deeper and somewhat thready, normal rate.

I tried Chu shi wei ling tang, which made him nauseous and having loose/dark stools (resolved off herb).

I see his spleen qi weakness and probably damp heat (better raw diet). As CSWLT pushes the pulse out, I was thinking of SMS, but it doesn't fit his pulse. He's had many AI collections over the years so imagine his kidney jing is weakened also? Herbal thoughts?

Thnx,

Cathy

Hi Cathy,

If you drain 'Si Miao San' points like SP 9, BL 25 and ST 36, and the pulse gets better, then even though it is atypical, I'd give it a try. I've felt thready pulses with SMS before

By they way, I put my reply to your chronic cough case question as comments in the problem list. Let's try to get away from putting the question in Google drive, though, okay? Just ask your question like you did with this one, using forum form fields.

Thanks Cathy

Sorry for the link; I typed up the case in "Ask a case question", but could not find it posted anywhere. All new cases go under this heading, yes? Not sure why I am so challenged by this.
