Hi Eleanor,
It will be safe, but is unlikely to accomplish much. Certainly it is overstating things to say that EAC (epsilon aminocaproic acid) is the western version of Yunnan Bai Yao, since the latter is anti-cancer and EAC is not. EAC is used strictly as an anti-hemorrhage compound by inhibiting plasmin formation.
There's a study of EAC and YBY used together in HSA. Here is the URL of the abstract: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27669112
There were no side effects at all.
For stage III dogs, we still use our protocol of Chai Hu Jia Long Gu Mu Li Tang, augmented with San Qi and Dang Gui; Yunnan Bai Yao; Yun Zhi (Coreolus granular whole herb extract at 30 mg/kg); and Vaccinium (Bilberry extract). It does seem to give decent survivals. If there are a lot of upper burner concerns, you can add in Modified Xue Fu Zhu Yu Tang. XCHT is helpful, but perhaps not as effective as CHJLGMLT.
Hope that helps!
Steve
