Adrenal Tumor

Here's another case of me thinking too much.

I have a F/S 7yr chow mix with an adrenal tumor (presumed) and acth stim >50. Typically my cushings patients are hot and excessive and do better with Long Dan Xie Gan Tang. This girl seems much more yin deficient - panting at night, smallish red tongue, rapid, thin, deep pulse, normal weight, not greasy or overtly damp, no hairloss. She is polydipsic and polyuric. So I think I should start her on Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan. I worry this will make her worse.

Don't worry, you won't make her worse. Adrenal tumors often present this way. Now it may not work, but that's a different issue.

For myself, I've found I need to treat them like an abdominal tumor and use something like Ge Xia Zhu Yu Tang plus some sort of liver detoxification formula. Even Hoxsey can help. Lastly, we often need just a bit of trilostane. Maybe not a full dose - perhaps only half.

But I am curious to see how you get on with ZBDHW. Consider also Qing Ying Tang for its both moving and Yin tonifying properties.
