Laxity Front Right In A Cat
by ecrb716 - June 26, 2019    View Case Report
I have a 15 w old kitten that had a fracture at 8 weeks through metacarpal 1, 2, and 3. This has resolved but there's a lot of laxity in the joint and the kitten is not using it properly. Radiographically it has healed. I try to stimulate LIV and GB points today- is there a good herb? His tongue is purple, the foot does not feel hot or col and his pulses felt smooth. He was sensitive over BL 18. Thanks!

The tongue and fracture/Blood Stasis certainly point to a need to move Blood and I like to use Xiao Huo Luo Dan. Is she Blood or Yin deficient to you? Any signs of dryness? If so, I'd add Si Wu Tang or something similar as XHLD can dry them out further.

One more thought. in case there is some residual pain causing the reluctance to use the limb (separate from the laxity issue), I would try homeopathic Symphytum 30, given twice daily for a few weeks. It can resolve pain issues related to fractures that have healed, but are nonetheless still sore
