Nasal Adenocarcinoma In A Dog
by Dreudog - July 6, 2020    View Case Report
Hi Steve,

This dog is a 10 yr old English Cocker w/ suspect nasal adenocarcinoma. (per the rDVM, tumor was very hard; an obvious mass was visible); biopsy (6/13/20) only had gum tissue. Epistaxis 5/4/20 - X-rays at that time showed no obvious lesion. Healthy previous to bleed, ansd she's not had epistaxis since. I'm assuming she has a FSA, OSA or some such.

I met Abby 6/3 :

Exam:

- Energetic, very sweet and social
- obstructed air flow right nares, no discharge
- sl. epiphora right eye
- tongue; pink, moist (not wet)
- pulse: deeper, toned

I started Abby on Modified XFZYT + Xin Yi San + Yunnan Bai Yao + SP Thymex, Medicinal mushrooms, diet change to fresh cooked.

6/25 owners reported that her high submandibular lymph node was ^ in size. I had them stop herbs and report. The lymph node reduced in size, so I asked owners to restart herb. Abby's energy dropped (which I now lean happened the first time), swelling of tissues above er right eye, developed ataxia (could not walkathons straight line).

Uggghhhh........ so I'm assuming this herb combo caused tissues to swell in the area of the mass.
The (Mod) XFZYT would tonify and move blood (was it too dampening?), move blood to exterior. XYS moves qi?

Where to go next? She has the exuberance of a Si Miao san case, but no history or PE support for damp heat. Something descending but still anti- cancer like CHJLGMLT?

As always, THANKS !!

Hi Cathy,

I agree that something like CHJLGMLT is the next thing to try. You can also add in Hoxsey-Like Combination if there is no immediate aggravation, but not necessarily any improvement

Hopefully that helps. The lymphadenopathy is a signpost saying we need to think Shao Yang disharmony as at least part of the problem
