Mast Cell Tumour

Huge Mastiff Cross - way overweight at 52.5kg - almost 9 years old. Dx with MCT grade 2 on hind limb - unable to remove with larger margins than I did without amputating but still cells present at margins deep and lateral.
Typical Damp Heat/Phlegm signs. Also with numerous other lumps which look like little lick granulomas, and elbows with irritation/inflammation that have responded quite well to antibiotics.
oncologist here suggested radiation was best conventional prognostic improver
Initial feeling was Hoxsey and/or SMS plus diet and supplement changes. However with the othe rlumps and also the fact that the wound-site also improved with basic abc coverage, I thought maybe Angelica and Mastic might be a useful alternative? Perhaps XFHMY + SMS together with diet and supps? Any specific supps useful here? Or would you not go past Hoxsey in a case like this?
Tongue - Very red, thick coating, recently beginning to have touch of purple about it.
Pulse - huge and slippery generally but again recently it has started to be broad, slippery but a bit empty feeling too.
Overweight, oily coat ...

Hi Mike,

If the pulse is that strong, then I'd throw all three formulas at it. At a minimum, SMS plus XFHMY. In general, though, I like your assessment and ideas. I'm sure you'll get somewhere, and probably not need the radiation. If you see recurrence at the same site due to poor margins, you can always repeat the excisional biopsy and follow up with radiation. In my experience, though, well-chosen formulas can compensate for poor margins if used for long enough (pulse and tongue normal, etc.).

Don't forget an anti-Damp (raw or home-cooked diet). The lack of grains will and use of produce will have a nice antioxidant effect while depriving tumor cells of any post-prandial gushes of glucose.

Hope this case works out for you. If the owner follows through, it should.
