Medial Canthal Redness In A Dog
Ace is a 10yo intact male Standard poodle that I've been seeing for 3 years. He has always been very well cared for and fit until this year, fed a raw diet. In the Spring of 2022 he came in with red ulcerated medial canthi. His eyes were otherwise WNL. His blood work was pristine. His tongue was a normal pink, moist, good size, and pulses well toned. I treated him with Maxidex topically. It helped a bit but the ulcerative-looking lesions have never gone away. Late summer he became acutely lethargic and went off food but a few days later he rallied so O did not bring in for another month. In October I palpated a huge caudal abdominal mass and by November I did a splenectomy on a splenic HSA. During this time I also put him on XCHT but the eyes never improved. Last week he was back in, doing great in every other way BUT THESE EYES!!! I put him on CHLJGMLT for Yang rising??? Any other thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
Corinne
