Hello Steve!

I was reading pages 254-55 in Manual of Natural Veterinary Medicine about Lithospermum. Have you done any more work or trials with this herb for hyperthyroid cats on Methimazole? If so, does it seem to decrease the dose of Methimazole needed?

Hi Julie,

It does work quite well to reduce the dose of methimazole needed. We can certainly send you some to try out. It doesn't necessarily fit from a TCM perspective, however, so we've de-emphasized it. But it does work, often reducing the dose of tapazole required to keep cats stable by half.
