I wanted to take a minute to share a dramatic success story. In the beginning of October, I saw a 9 year old mc cat for a long history of vomiting. He would vomit every day after eating for years. His stools were soft and stinky. He had lost weight. The owners had done a lot of referral hospital testing including an abdominal ultrasound which showed extensive thickening of the bowel from stomach to anus! He was diagnoses tentatively with IBD or LSA. Owners were about to start immune suppressive doses of prednisone. Metronidazole for a bout of diarrhea made him sicker with more vomiting (cold).
He was on glucosamine and digestive enzymes (Acetylater?), and large doses of slippery Elm.
He is always cold, needs his food to be heated. The owner was the most compulsive and distraught individual I have had the pleasure of dealing with. Husband had already decided I could do nothing to help and that the cat needed pred.
Pulses deep and weak. Points active and treated: GV-4(T), BL-20,21 CV-12
Diagnosis:SP yang def
I started him on Wei Ling Tang nervously because this cat had a lot of trouble holding down anything.
I rechecked this cat yesterday around 3 weeks later. No vomiting in 20 days, more energy, weight gain, formed and less stinky poops!
Thank you for the knowledge and ammo to handle this. You should have seen these owners in my exam room. They thought I was an absolute miracle worker! Most importantly, this cat is doing fabulously!
Best,
Kevin Landau
