Spine Lithe/ DHJST Tablets Cause Pu/pd?

Hi there Dr Steve,

I have had a couple of older dogs that refuse powders so to get DHJST in, I have been sending home the Spine Lithe tablets. In two cases now, these dogs have become incredibly pu/pd?? And it seems when they are off the tablets the pu/pd abates. With the last dog, the owner was so convinced it helped his spine that she retried the Lumbrex and fed to him with cooked ground beef, back and hindlegs much improved, but no pu/pd. Is there an ingredient in the KE tablets that would increase thirst?

Hi Corinne,

There should be no difference in the recipes used between Spine Lithe and DHJST, so to react to one and not the other is odd, indeed. It might be worth you, yourself, tasting the tablet and the powder to see if you detect a difference. If the tablets are bitter (causing you to want to drink and therefore pee), the issue should probably be reported to Kan.

If you give that taste test a try, I'd love to know the outcome! LOL!

Hi Steve,

The tablets are not particularly bitter and I'm not overtly pu/pd since chewing on them...they're not my favourite, but actually in the scheme of TCM, not bad tastewise. I guess we'll never know! Just glad the Lumbrex worked out and the dog is doing well! Thank you for getting back to me, much appreciated as always :)
