Intention Tremors In A Dog
Ace is an 18mth-old MN Labrador Retriever who was recently vaccinated for Rabies by my boss on Nov 8th, then started having intention tremors of the head off and on 2 days later. He went to emergency but did not do a work up there, and instead came back to our clinic on the 18th when I saw him myself. He has now had at least 8 episodes of tremors that O is aware, they last 1-1.5 min, the odd episode can last 4-5 min. Ace seems fine, not disoriented or distressed during episodes, and near the end he will throw himself down or just lay down on his bed. The first tremors were very intense, seems like they are a little less intense now but vary. He is normally fed Hurraw dehyd raw fish, but switched to pork a few days ago as he went off his food. That has since been fine though, fish food may have been off? There has been no vomiting, lip-smacking, odd eye movements, no pupil dilation noted by O, nor change in behaviour. Great EN most of the time, still in field trial training, really bright dog with lots of EN. Not on any meds, nor Nexgard or Bravecto.
Unfortunately, this was a Saturday where I see lots of emergencies and I didn't have my TCM hat on. I didn't get a look at his tongue but pulses seemed toned. The dog is lively and bright, silly but sweet personality. I've looked in curedcases and textbooks but cannot find anything? I looked into Rabies miasms but also couldn't find anything that matched up. Any thoughts?
Thank you!
