I`ve never seen XFHMY cause nail damage, or nails to slough, despite us using it specifically for digital pathology. So my guess would be the nail sloughing is part of the original pathology.
I can`t recall the rest of the case, but are there any signs of improvement in the animal. If you can`t see any, then you may not need to continue use of XFHMY, if you`re worried about it. If on the other hand, the dog has shown improvement in other areas, then I would assume the nail sloughing is part of the healing process. I will say, though, that for dogs losing their nails, and where any digital inflammation is fairly mild, Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang is a good pick. Did we discuss that as an option originally?
