My in-laws have a 14 yr MN old cat that developed a large fibrosarcoma (5 cm diam) between his shoulder blades. Thankfully I was able to remove it but with very narrow margins. It was right over the spinal processes.
So, Hogan is a unique cat. When he was adopted he had bilateral folding of his ears backwards--almost like a Scottish Fold but backwards. He gets brown waxy exudate in his ears and has always had epiphora. He has had 2 urinary blockages with struvite crystals--most recent one was in June 2009. He is a very sleek and thin cat, and tends to be a finicky eater but currently will eat c/d dry and lick off the gravy from canned food. I tried to switch him to Wellness food and he blocked within 1 mth of the diet change.
Tongue is pink, moist. Pulse is superficial, strong, wiry. The wiry pulse implies stasis to me.
To me his previous history seems like damp heat, so I am trying to decide if Modified Xue Fu Zhu Yu Tang or Hosxey like formula would be better.
Thank you!
