My brother has arthritis in his knees which has recently caused him to retire from his athletic endeavors ( soccer, running, etc).
He spent a lot of years playing soccer 2-3x per week and taking Advil. He has had repeated knee surgeries. Both cruciates, torn cartilage, and has been told that he has little articular cartilage remaining in his knees. One knee which had a boot strap tear in the cartilage is the more painful of the two knees.
He has symptoms typical of many of my 4 legged patients. Stiffness on first rising, long warm-ups needed, and pain with any hard exercise.
Pulse is a bit deep, thin and wiry.
Formulas which come to mind which seem appropriate XHLD and are XCHT. How would you manage a case like this? He is taking a glucosamine supplement but nothing else at this point.
Thanks for any input.
