SRT For Early Renal Disease In Sharpei Fever
by Michelle1 - November 23, 2009
Hi Steve,

Have an older Sharpei with hock swelling and inflammation in both rear limbs and early renal changes. Would San ren tang be the best choice for this type on inflammation?

Thank-you!
Michelle

Hi Michelle,

Generally hock swelling is considered a Damp change, so San Ren Tang is a good thing to try. I also couldn't rule out a GB channel pathology causing the hock swelling. In that case, Xiao Chai Hu Tang is a good choice. To be safe, you could safely use both.
