Question Details
Ruptured Splenic Hemangiosarcoma
by Steve - November 26, 2009
Hi Steve - an 11 yr old Lab mix was operated on emergency for abdominal bleeding from a splenic mass. Unfortunately, histopath was a splenic hemangiosarcoma. No evidence of mets at time of surgery. She is recovering well, still a little anemic. Have not done T+P since pre-op when she was shocky from hemorrhage. Suggestions to help slow spread of tumor as her abdomen was really well seeded with the tumor ( it really ruptured!). Thanks - Steve

Hi Steve,

In the absence of any other information, I'd suggest my standard approach to hemangiosarcoma. For hemostasis: Yunnan Bai Yao; for the tumor, and for hemostasis: Bu Yang Huan Wu Tang; for anti-cancer effect: Vaccinium (Bilberry extract); and then there is the usual low starch home-cooked or raw (if tolerated) diet. Lastly, vitamin A and D supplementation would not go amiss.

Erin Bannink might have some other protocols she would recommend, based on her extensive experience with cancer.

Steve
