Question Details
Spleen Qi Def Cat
by marneemadsen - December 10, 2009
HI Steve,

I am seeing a 8 yr old FS DSH with chronic failure to thrive. She is emaciated, renal azotemia with TH obst, SP QI Def. I started LJZT and SRT based on pts, etc. Wondering dose of DHA for cats? I think you said 600mg 6x daily for humans.

This kitty cannot use her tongue now to prehend or groom - I am assuming from the severe Sp Qi Def...any other things you would think of?

Thanks!
It has felt like Edmonton here the past few days...we are all so dessicated!

Hi Marnee,

Use about one sixth the human dose of DHA for a cat.

If the cat seems paralytic, or cognitively impaired, think about Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang as a way of boosting its Qi while stopping the diarrhea.
