Question Details
Osteosarcoma Hoxsey Formula
by Pamela77 - February 15, 2010
Hi Dr. Marsden,

I'm writing for Pamela Bouchard at Tender Care in San Rafael, CA.

We have been using your Hoxsey formula with the addition of boneset and comfrey to make it Osteosarcoma Hoxsey.

I noticed in your new Hoxsey and Boneset ingredients you leave out comfrey and add buckthorn root.

Are you concerned about liver toxicity? We want to keep up to date with the formulas, so any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Sharon

Comfrey can certainly be included. It was never a part of the formula we made, but I suggested it years ago as a means of avoiding pathological fractures. It's still appropriate.

Buckthorn was removed because the FDA was getting agitated about it, for no good reason. Given that it plays a very minor role in the formula, its absence doesn't seem to be a problem.
