Lymphoma

last set of questions for now...I have a labrador with a hsitory of sever sebacous adenitis which has been controlled with diet, medrol and Qing YIng Tang and Si wu Xioa Feng Yin. But this fall was diagnosed with cutaneous lymhoma although the dog has had cutaneious histiocytomas removed in the past and these recent biopsies were controversial. He also is diabetic and blind due to corneal dystrophy from his years of steroids. FInally his ulcerated toe /nail bed lesions and lip fold lesion have responded to two rounds of L-aparaginase. He has had intractable diarrhea this whole time. I recently tried Tan You Tang, but her vomitted on it. P-superficial wiry, T-red this and dry looking. He looks severly liver blood deficient. I am wondering about Si Mao San and Rehmania 8. Ideas? thanks Jean

I've had some Blood deficient lymphoma dogs do well on Xue Fu Zhu Yu Tang, followed by San Ren Tang. These cases are mild.

For more severe cases, XFHMY applied topically can help open lesions heal. Remember the case I mentioned in class, too, that one time - we used Chai Hu Jia Long Gu Mu Li Tang on him plus metronomic doses of cyclophosphamide. He lived a long time before succumbing.

If the tongue is quite forceful, we need to be careful of tonics. Dispersing is what's needed. But if you're sure, XFZYT is the place to start because at least it moves as it moistens.
