16 yr old FS cat started tx in Jan 09 for chronic ulcerative skin dz. She was one hot, fat, red, ulcerated, angry cat. Ears, abdomen, face, and beyond about BL 18 bald and red and ulcerated in areas. She had been wearing an E Collar for months/years to keep from tearing herself up.
Changed to raw, Qing Ying Tang for several months. Used Bup and Kudzu for cough, runny nose, pain last spring that helped.
They disappeared for a while, but reported she was doing much better.
I saw her again and she does look much better. Weight is normal now, ears and lateral sides of face and nose still bald, but not nearly as red. Fine hair growing back on caudal half of body. Tail never affected and full hair but cold. Ears and feet cold. She turns bright pink about every other day and once to twice monthly, she gets facial edema.
She still has a few ulcerative plaques on her abdomen and is still itchy. She has quite serous nasal discharge, sneezing and goopy black junk in her ears with severe pruritis.
Tongue has gone from bright red to pink edges with pale to maybe lavendar center under tongue. Pulses are deep, thin, sl wiry L, a little slippery on the R.
Pts: BL22S, GV14
Started her back on QYT, wondering about SRT or FJHQT for the recurring facial edema?
Thanks
