Notes:  'Izzy' presented to another practitioner with pale gums which led to US and splenectomy on 2/13/21, I started Izzy on the HSA protocol on 3/6/21 and acupuncture was performed q3 weeks for cancer and back pain. Throughout this time, Izzy would 'crash' with pale membranes, inappetence and recumbancy. Owners would give the Yunnan Baiyao red pill on my recommendation as I assumed another bleed. Within 12-24 hours, she would rally with normal energy, normal appetite and good QOL. YB dose was increased from 2 capsules (WT 35#) to 2 three times a day. After 4-6 of these episodes, she was finally unable to recover and put to sleep 6/28/21.
Overall, I was totally impressed with the HSA protocol as I felt the dog had great QOL until the end.
