Question Details
Left Temporal Muscle Atrophy In A Dog
by jschell - May 9, 2018    View Case Report
5 year old Rottweiller. Neutered male.

He has left nostril has lots of dry, crusty yellow discharge. It has to be picked out with cotton swab.

Over the past 12 months I cured a lupus-like skin scab/swelling (like lupus) issue on right muzzle with Niacinamide and Tetracycline.

But his muscle atrophy left side is still present and left sided droopy eyelid and due to muscle atrophy the globe rotated inwards. He can still see and hear well.

I noted lavender, slightly pale tongue with white coating. Pulses slightly weak.

I perform acupuncture and chiropractic. including Vitamin b12 injections into the muscle atrophy area.
What herb formula would help his guy?

Thank you!
Julie

Hmm. Sounds almost like Bell's palsy. We use Xiao Chai Hu Tang (or Chai Ge Jie Ji Tang) to address this in people. It might be worth a try, especially considering the history of potentially autoimmune pathology. If GB points have helped (check GB 20), I'd definitely go that way, even with the weak pulse, at least to start with.

If other points helped instead, let us know what they are
