Disseminated MCT In A Dog

I have a 6-year-old JRT FS canine that came to me for a herbal consult. She had a chronic history of allergies as we she was a farm dog. When she came to us 11/17 she was diagnosed with MCT via aspirates. Lesions where on top of head and forelimbs. Since then we changed up her diet dramatically, home-cooked diet with food from the farm, cooling to neutral based food. Spring 2018 O went to see an Oncologist as lesions started to move around the body and abdomen became full/distended. They gave the dog a poor prognosis of a few weeks and they believed MCT disseminated to abdomen. We hit her hard with Ozone/Bemer which really turned her around. Since then she had maintained, plateaued, skin lesions shrunk up with Bemer. This past fall 2018 O and I believe with the rain and the high mold count triggered the MCT ...started to spread more. Since then she has had waxing and waning lesions that grow, crack, then heal. What has been bothering her the most lately is sneezing bc I believe MCT in growing into the nose. (See Pics) O did see a a big difference when she started on Xue Fu Zu Yu Tang, that she started in the fall. Has been to ophthalmologist for eyes as well.
Tongue- lavender, dry- not a big drinker
Pulse- thin but fast, weaker on left pulse
Stools- Fecal material softer, glistening per O
Skin Lesions- All tend to be exterior, IE tips of ears, eyes, nose, toes. No lesions on top-line or belly.
Temperature- Warm- hot, grease to coat (since starting the Xue Fu Zu Yu Tang has become hot in the winter)
She is on an array of supplements
CAS Options
Chlorella
Inflammatory Shield (Curcumin) -told O to stop.... since the heat c/s
Thyro-Tabs 0.1 mg BID
Nuvet Plus 1 T SID
Probiotic
Optimmune OU SID
Chlorpromazine 1/2 T BID-TID
Wei Qi Booster- D/C- Would like owner to restart
Stasis Breaker- D/C O saw no difference on this for 2-3 months
External Wind-D/C O saw no difference on this for 2-3 months
IP6 1 tablet Daily
Xue Fu Zu Yu Tang Xue Fu Zhu Yu Tang with E Zhu and San Leng ( Kingdom of Basil) O is giving 1/4 tsp. BID

Treatments
Ozone therapy- was getting then stopped, no change
Daily Bemer PEMF- Helped tremendously

Question
Should we continue with the Xue Fu Zhu Yu Tang with E Zhu and San Leng from Kingdom of Basil?
I feel that patient has some damp heat going in Liver/Gallbladder/Large Intestine because of the heat, excoriations around the eyes, ears and the soft stinky mucous stools. Should I add on a general Damp Heat formula? I do plan on adding on high vitamin C dosage based off of Manual of Natural Vet Med. book. We did get her Vitamin D3 results back from VDL lab. I feel like we are grabbing at straws with her as what else we can do.

Hi Sarah,

It sounds like you're doing pretty well if you've gotten the dog this far, and it had such a bleak prognosis!

My temptation would be to roll in Xiao Chai Hu Tang. It can address the inflammation around the eyes as well as the tendency to colon inflammation, while broadening the anti-cancer influence. If her pulse improved with needling of GB points, then that would be confirmation it will likely help

Wei Qi Booster would be indicated if you tonified BL 40 and found the pulse improved, but it may well make any existing inflammatory response worse, unless the dog has chronic infections secondary to the use of the cyclosporine. In that instance, it would help. BL 40 can help you decide.

Damp Heat formulas are not as likely to help if the dog is still having issues on a real food diet, unless that diet is very high in fat or starch.

Hopefully this advice allows you to go further.
